COVID info for visitors to the practice
Returning safely to sessions at my practice location
It’s been over a year since I last had clients, physically, in my therapy room, and I’m very
much looking forward to welcoming you back. For those of you who found the settings
we’ve used during lockdown (i.e. online or walk-and-talk sessions) still suit you – please do
continue to use the medium that best suits you. The opening of this practice back to visitors will be gradual and in line with your choice of whether or when to return.
I will continue to follow government advice, and if in future there is a high infection rate in this area, we will return as necessary to the online medium. You will be given notice of this, and options to decide how you would like to continue your therapy journey with me.
Enjoy a safe visit here
Your health and safety is always a priority and I have introduced some new measures to
ensure appropriate hygiene for your visit.
SHOWING SYMPTOMS
If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 we politely request that you, please do not visit us
and request an online rather than face-to-face consultation. Please contact us to amend your booking, you will only be able to return to the practice once you have completed a test and that the outcome is a negative result, or once you are well and have completed the necessary isolation period.
I have had both of my vaccines, and will complete a twice weekly Lateral Flow Test. If I test
positive or develop symptoms, I will inform you and we can decide if you’d like an online
session instead.
ARRIVAL
There is no waiting area in this practice, so please arrive at the allocated session time. If
you arrive early I must ask you to wait outside. When you arrive and depart, please use the hand sanitiser provided at the door.
BRING A FACE MASK
Please enter and leave the premises wearing a face mask, you can remove this if you choose when you are seated and for the duration of the session.
REFRESHMENTS
There will no longer be refreshments provided at the practice, so I recommend you bring a
bottle of water if you so wish.
SOCIAL DISTANCING
Please allow 2 metre distance at all times when you enter and leave. The furniture in the
therapy room is spaced to allow safe distance throughout the session.
ENHANCED CLEANING
The entrance and therapy room will be cleaned throughout the day including the major
seating touchpoints (you should not touch anything else in the practice when you visit –
doors will be opened for you).TA101

The Psychology of Self-Care
In the helping professions there is a high risk of 'burnout' - we are so busy tending to others that we can end up neglecting our own self-care. This workshop will ground and bring you as a practitioner to the point of prioritising your self-renewal to a point of thriving (not just surviving) our professional journey.
In booking on this workshop, you will be investing in yourself - your most important asset in the job you do! It will include both personal and professional challenge alongside examples of how to do 'self-care'.
Trainer: Susie Hewitt MSc Psychotherapy, TSTA-P, UKCP Reg. mBACP Accred. Susie has been a self-confessed workaholic for over 30 years and has researched and developed an experiential 1 day workshop to focus / refocus our intent to take care of our greatest asset in life (our bodies and minds).

Introduction to Family Therapy
There are other ways of working with clients than individually, for example: couples counselling / group therapy. Very few therapists consider the option of working with the family as a whole.
In this workshop we will learn when it can be beneficial to offer family therapy; it’s efficacy in comparison to other alternatives; what considerations and differences there are in family therapy; how it can be an alternative to child and adolescent therapy (working with the child on their own).
Susie has been working successfully with families since 2009 on issues such as bereavement; individuation and separation stages; divorce; adolescent rebellion and oppositional defiance; plus general relationship / communication and conflict challenges.
Using TA and other Family Systems theories and treatment plans, you will get a taste of (and hopefully a motivation for) working therapeutically with the family as a whole. The workshop will be didactic and experiential in content and is aimed at counsellors, psychotherapists, educators or healthcare professionals who are faced with issues that are caused by dysfunction in the family.
Trainer: Susie Hewitt is a Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst. She has an MSc in TA Psychotherapy (Middlesex Uni) and is registered and accredited as a psychotherapist and supervisor with both UKCP and BACP. She has run a Private Practice in North Manchester since 2009.
This workshop carries CPD credits (particularly for those in TA Training who must count hrs with a PTSTA or TSTA trainer).
